The courtyard is the reason people come: shaded outdoor courtyard, dog-friendly, string lights after dark, and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. It's the kind of outdoor space that becomes a ritual.
We draw locals from Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Jax Beach, plus resort guests from One Ocean and families exploring the plaza. Near Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park trails and the main beach access, Southern Grounds is a natural stop for morning coffee before a beach walk, brunch after one, or a long work session in the afternoon.

Is the courtyard open year-round?

Yes. The courtyard is the heart of this location — open daily, rain or shine. It seats well over 100 people under the trees, with enough space to spread out, work, or settle in for a long lunch. On cooler Florida evenings, it's the best seat in Beaches Town Center.
Is there live music here?

Friday and Saturday nights in the courtyard. It's acoustic, ambient — background music to a conversation, not a concert. Most people don't realize it's happening until they're already seated outside. Check our Instagram for who's playing this weekend.
Can I bring my dog?

Yes. The courtyard is dog-friendly and the regulars know it. You'll see dogs most mornings and evenings. We just ask that they stay on leash and out of the indoor space.
Where do I park?

Street parking on First Street and around Beaches Town Center. On busy weekends, the Methodist Church lot next door is a reliable backup — it's a short walk and usually has space when the street is full. Don't let the parking situation talk you out of coming; people figure it out every day.
Is this the original Southern Grounds location?

It is. Neptune Beach opened in February 2016 — this is where the whole thing started. The courtyard, the scratch kitchen, the Intelligentsia coffee program. Everything that came after grew out of what was built here.
